Unboxing “The Lionfish” Signature Mermaid Tail by Finfolk Productions

Check it out! I got “The Lionfish” Signature mermaid tail from Finfolk Production’s 2022 Fall line! I filmed the unboxing, tried it on, and shared some close-ups of this gorgeous realistic fabric mermaid tail.

“The Lionfish” Signature Mermaid Tail Design

Introducing the new “Lionfish” mermaid tail by Finfolk Productions! The girls have outdone themselves again… designing giant Lionfish hip fins and translating the fish’s natural striping into a gorgeous mermaid tail that is truly a wearable work of art!

The colors are rich and vibrant, even the white scales have enough depth to show up beautifully on camera. The body base color is all white, with a quick transition at the base of the fluke into a bright red-orange color (the tips of the fluke fade back to white). Rusty red stripes line the sides of the body with some unique spotting as well. I’m in love with the deep red rings at the base of the fluke- they remind me of leopard print spotting and give total y2k vibes!

Seriously just go look at the detailing yourself! Similar to the fluke, the base of the fins are a rich red orange fading out to bright white tips. The realistic 3d printing makes the fins appear boned, and the chevron striping adds to that effect. Of course this is the first introduction of the “Lionfish hip fins” though I do hope to see these beauties on more tails in the future! They have a few other fin options for this tail, including their OG hip and calf fin pairing, as well as, the option to add a dorsal fin!

The “Lionfish” mermaid tail is a realistic mermaid tail that looks great for photos and events! Like all Finfolk Signature fabric mermaid tails, this swimmable mermaid tail is created from 1mm, 4-way stretch scuba knit with sublimation printed designs that are realistically detailed and vibrant. This means the scales appear 3D and give the illusion of depth.

The “Realistic” fluke is simple, natural-looking, and HUGE!

The “Lionfish” signature mermaid tail features Finfolk Production’s “Realistic” fluke! This iconic Finfolk designs resembles a fish’s natural tail, which is probably why it is aptly names “Realistic.” It’s a broad fluke with a classic mermaid silhouette!

  All Finfolk Signature fabric tails come with a durable vinyl monofin-casing built inside of the tail. This hard but flexible vinyl fills out the fabric perfectly so your monofin can be easily slipped inside and secured with velcro straps. I recommend using a monofin with short, stiff blades such as the FINIS Shooter (which I prefer for these larger flukes) or an Adult Mermaid Linden monofin (a strong swimmer may be able to get away with this one). Remember, quality of monofin will affect quality of tail use (AND SAFETY), so don’t be cheap!
