Jules on the beaches in Thailand, with Finfolk Productions' "olympia" mermaid tail draped over her shoulder, fluke hanging down her back
Mermaid Jules on the beaches in Thailand, wearing Finfolk Productions "olympia" mermaid tail

This little mermaid went to Thailand!

More specifically, Railay- a small peninsula between the city of Krabi and Ao Nang. It is accessible only by boat due to high limestone cliffs cutting off mainland access. There is also way to hike over, but the path is dependent on the tide, so we chose to stay right on the island of Railay. This also gave us early morning and late evening access to the beaches, when there are less crowds. We hiked to a few different beaches and were able to capture some gorgeous shots on the shores and even in the tidepools!

More about our visit to Railay Thailand

Railay was beautiful! I excitedly pointed out the “adorable” monkeys to my husband on the first morning there, then quickly realized they were basically local vermin. Still cute, but definitely wouldn’t get too close, they’re just looking for food. We also saw large monitor lizards, beautiful blue butterflies, a blue macaw (who must’ve belonged to a local although he appeared to roam the area freely), and my absolute favorite- TOUCANS! In the tide pools, there were so many sea cucumbers! I also managed to get stung by something, not sure what exactly but it showed up on my wrist similar to sea-lice.
