“Kneeling Mermaid” is as easy as it sounds and it’s hands free!

How to get into “Kneeling Mermaid” Pose

From “On-the-Side” pose, roll forward onto your knees & shins letting your fluke lay flat on the floor. Shift your weight back into your hips and use your hands to push up off the ground into a sitting position. Try sitting all the way back on your fluke or off to the side of it.

Try kneeling at different Heights

Next try propping up your body, hinging at the knees & playing with various levels.

Fish Butts!

When in doubt, stick your fish butt out! Mermaids are known to be alluring creatures so don’t be afraid to let your siren side show.

Easy to Balance Hands-Free

For my influencers out there, Kneeling Mermaid pose is ideal for product photos because you can balance with no hands, allowing you to hold and show off just about anything! However, hands-free posing can be difficult for new mermaid models who don’t always know what to do with their hands. I recommend grabbing a prop to pose with or when all else fails, place your hands in your lap or lean forward and crawl your hands into the sand in front of you.

TIPS for Kneeling Mermaid Pose

The best camera angle for Kneeling Mermaid pose is from slightly above, as usual, to capture your beautiful fluke, which will likely be flat with the ground. Use your environment, letting your fluke hang down when possible, so your photographer can get a more captivating shot while staying on your eye level.
