EVERYTHING you missed at the 2025 Boynton Beach Pirate Festival
Mermaid Jules & her pod had a mer-mazing time at the 2025 Boynton Beach Pirate Festival! A huge thank you to everyone who came out to visit us in the mermaid grotto on Saturday, & to everyone who braved the stormy weather to see us on Sunday. If you couldn’t make it, read on for a full recap of everything you missed from the Mermaid Grotto at the Boynton Beach Pirate Festival! Thanks to the City of Boynton Beach for trusting me with the design and direction of the Mermaid Grotto; it’s an honor and a pleasure to come out and entertain the community each year!
Watch Mermaids Swim in a Giant Pool & Catch the Daily Mermaid Shows
The mermaid pool got a MAJOR upgrade this year! Our giant 25ft long pool could fit SO many mermaids at once and allowed for guests to view & approach the mermaids from all sides. We had more room to swim, and more leverage to make a splash! Speaking of splashes- our daily Splash Show left the little ones soaked & smiling! Our mermaids hosted interactive games with the audience and gave away lots of pearl necklaces at the end.
Explore the Siren’s Shipwreck and go fishing for some treasure!
The Siren’s Shipwreck was just as it sounds, a pirate ship that had been overrun with sirens and sea witches. One sea witch there was in search of pearls for her potions. She claimed all the pirates’ treasure on the ship and was willing to part with it- for a price. She’d rent you a fishing pole to catch a clam at the mermaid pool and trade you a treasure for your catch- a white pearl won a small prize, a black pearl won a big prize.
Make a Magic Potion with the Sea Witch’s Apprentice at the Siren’s Shipwreck
Another fun character you’d meet at the Siren’s Shipwreck is the Sea Witch’s Apprentice. She could be found crafting away at her potions, though she’d be more than happy to craft one with you! These non-consumable potions bring the intentions it was crafted with to its wearer and of course the room where it is stored! This was our newest mermaid experience and from the feedback we received, it was a total hit! Kids loved coloring their potions and mixing in glitter, mermaid scales & more with their magic spoon! There were love potions and mermaid potions, but the craziest one I saw was the good luck potion. The creator went on to catch the black pearl twice!
Get a Mermaid Makeover at the Jellyfish Salon
Our pretty in pink Jellyfish salon was every little girl’s dream! You get to sit under a giant jellyfish while a mermaid pampers you with face gems, then braids pearl & shell charms into your hair.The little girls loved it! Each makeover ended with some starfish wishes and of course a little pixie dust! This year we even had a little shoppable section with cute hair clips, mermaid rings, ear cuffs & other accessories.
Meet a Real Mermaid and take your photo with her in our clam shell throne!
Enter an under the sea themed wonderland where you can sit in a giant clam shell and chat with a real mermaid! Our mermaids are always cheery and ready to answer any questions about life under the sea! We loved taking photos with little girls and boys, and even teens and adults of all ages!

As someone who has been performing at this festival for the last decade, I must say it is one of my most anticipated events annually. I love getting to see the local community come out, dress up, and make some magical mermaid memories, year after year! I also have to thank my incredible pod for showing up and showing out! Everyone loved meeting this year’s beautiful mermaids from our salon to shipwreck, to the pool and photo booth! My goal remains the same year after year, to make this the most magical mermaid experience you can get in Florida! Hope to see you all at next year’s Boynton Beach Pirate Festival & Mermaid Splash!
