I know you’re a real life mermaid. Here’s how you can keep your SEAcret!
Undercover mermaids face tons of challenges every day! From lifestyle choices and relationships, to just avoiding water in public, being secretly a mermaid on land is tricky! This list of tips, tricks, & loose rules can help mermaids like yourself get through daily life in the human world!
1. Don’t fall for a human.
It’s basically the number one rule of being a real life mermaid. Whatever you do, don’t break mermaid code. 🙅🏻♀️
2. *If you DO fall for a human… make sure they have a pool! 💦
Ok I get it, humans are like super cute! 😍 Sometimes a trip to land can lead to more than you expect…Â just make sure they have a pool, first! Beach front property works, too. 😏
3. Know your mermaid spells well and follow the warnings.
Make sure to read all the rules and conditions before casting any magic mermaid spells. Take the ‘Mer’s Night Out’ spell, for instance. When it says “back by sunrise,” that means back *IN THE WATER* before the sun comes up! Or else you’ll be crawling home like a baby sea turtle! 😳🐢
4. Don’t get caught. 🎣
Mermaids have a bad rep for sinking ships. Avoid resting on sunken boats or you may get blamed for the mishap.
5. Always have an escape plan!
Danger can sneak up on a mermaid at any moment. Have an elven potion at the ready when hanging around in shallow waters, or other areas where running will be a faster getaway than swimming!
6. Don’t let the neighbors get sus 😒
Be careful spending long hours by your pool and watch that your mermaid conversations are not overheard! 🤫 Neighbors are the most likely person to discover your “real life mermaid” secret so make sure your swimming pool is fenced in or surrounded by tall foliage.
7. Blend in with your surroundings.
Easier said than done when you’re a hot pink mermaid. 🤷🏻♀️
8. Above all, Don’t get wet!
Try to plan your day accordingly and always bring an umbrella!
