Plumeria Pink Discovery Mermaid Tail Design
Join me in unboxing my very first Discovery Tail by Finfolk Productions! I’m so excited for this brand new line of fabric tails which feature the same great quality as the Finfolk Signature fabric tail line, but the fluke is much smaller and therefore a fraction of the price! Like all swimmable fabric tails by Finfolk, Discovery tails are all created from 1mm, 4 way stretch scuba knit with sublimation printed designs that are realistically detailed and vibrant! The Discovery tail is perfect for new mermaids, traveling, fun swims with less drag, or for tail collectors who just gotta have them all.
Of course, being THE pink mermaid, you know I had to get the “Plumeria Pink” tail – its basically the fabric version of my classic “Mermaid Jules” pink silicone tail! The design starts with a light pink waist; the photo realistic scales appear to reflect a pink shine! The color quickly transitions into a hot flamingo pink as we progress towards the fluke. The pink scales darken into a plum purple where the scales meet the fluke. The fluke follows the same color way from base to tip: light pink, hot pink, plum purple. There are several veins of purple lines running the length of the fluke.
*FUN FACT* This “Plumeria Pink” pattern was one of the original designs from Finfolk’s very first Signature Fabric Tail release! It’s awesome that they continued the tradition and included this fan favorite in their very first run of Discovery Tails!
What’s in the Fin?
When you purchase a Discovery Tail through Finfolk Productions website, make sure you get yourself a ‘Linden’ Monofin, too! These Finfolk tail skins are made to fit snuggly over this particular monofin. The monofin fills out the fluke, giving you a beautiful mermaid silouhette and more importantly, the ability to propel yourself in the water by doing the dolphin kick. This particular monofin is small and light which has many benefits including: easy to store/ travel with, low cost, practical for training or fun! I would not recommend swimming with this tail in the open ocean as it is a relatively small monofin. Even a strong swimmer can get caught in a strong current and things can go south quickly.
Where can I buy this Mermaid tail??
All Finfolk Discovery fabric tails are released in limited edition collections. You can see every fabric mermaid tail collection Finfolk Production has released over the years in my post linked here. Finfolk does not often do not repeat or re-stock designs after they are sold out in large quantities. That means if it’s not on their website now, you likely won’t see it again. This Plumeria Pink tail design was part of their original Discovery Tail launch and is unfortunately retired. There is always a chance that Finfolk could pull this design out of their vault for a “Tail of the Month” release, so be sure to follow them on social media for updates! This will also keep you in the know for any upcoming tail releases, where you may just fall in love with a new design! Learn more about the types of Finfolk Tails and how to buy them here.
Pro tip: join Finfolk’s Pod Squad to get early access to tail sales for the best chance at snagging your favorite design in your size. Finfolk tail sales typically sell out in the first few hours of going live to the public- pod members beat the rush!
